The Academy has a global network of local representatives who receive
training on our programmes, facilities, application procedures and
entry requirements. No agents are authorised to make programme,
accommodation or scholarship offers on the Academy's behalf.
In
return for their assistance our authorised agents receive a commission payment for each referral who successfully enrols. We do not
pay commission to unauthorised representatives. As a result most
authorised representatives offer a free service to prospective
applicants and those that do charge must display a transparent costed
menu of services.
The appointment
of new representatives is co-ordinated in the first instance by the
relevant International Officer with responsibility for the market in
question. New appointments are usually only made to replace
existing representatives or in new markets where we do not currently
have an authorised representative. Decisions are made on the basis of
market size and recruitment potential, existing representation and
completion of a proforma and references. We expect representatives to
be familiar with UK qualifications and application procedures such as
UCAS and most have attended the British Council's training for agents.
If
the International Officer decides to appoint a new representative
a contract is drawn up setting out our terms and conditions and code of
practice for agents. Authorised representatives are sent
a certificate to display confirming that they are a
recognised Academy agent, along with copies of relevant promotional
materials to advise students about the Academy's programmes.
For those of you considering becoming an authorised Academy agent, please complete the Agent Assessment and provide proof of business registration from your Country such as a certified copy of business registration.
