Diploma in First Line Management (Level 3)
This qualification
is aimed at current or aspiring supervisors and first line managers. The course is structured towards
developing the effectiveness and efficiency of business operations by means of:
- Motivating and
developing the people who work in a business team or department
- Fostering
effective communication
- Developing a
sense of team/corporate identity
Gaining a Diploma
in First Line Management provides
the underpinning knowledge and understanding required of those with ambitions
for Supervisory and/or Management based positions and beyond. Additionally, the Diploma offers the
opportunity for personal development and enhanced career prospects. The qualification is awarded by the
much esteemed Chartered Management Institute.
Course Structure
The Diploma's
classroom based learning will centre on the Chartered Management Institute's
seven unit specification. The
student's knowledge and understanding of management theory and practice is
assessed via seven assignments.

Course Duration
This 12 month full time
course involves 15 hours of learning per week. This will include classroom based learning and trips to
business orientated events.
Suitability & Entry Requirements
This qualification is ideally designed
to be relevant for students with knowledge and/or experience of First Line
Management.
Entry Requirements:
- Minimum age of
18+
- English
proficiency equivalent to *IELTS 5
* Applicants are
advised that only English Certificates on the on-line UK Government qualification list are recognised by the Academy.
Applicants
without UK government recognised English qualifications will undergo the
Academy's initial English proficiency assessments. All applicants subsequently admitted onto the course are
advised that their level of English is re-assessed during the UK
induction/orientation phase with optional Internationally recognised English
certification available.
Assessment
Students are
assessed via seven unit specific assignments.
Career Prospects
This
qualification is most relevant to those students that wish to pursue additional
skills and responsibilities that are associated with management at level
3. In addition, especially for
International students, the course can be integrated with Business English.
